This week, we received news that left Brian, our team, and me both humbled and grateful: Ebenezer Remodeling was named the 2026 BBB Business of the Year Torch Award Recipient in the Small Business Category. The Better Business Bureau's Torch Award for Ethics recognizes businesses that exemplify high standards of trust and ethical business practices.
While we are very humbled and honored to receive this recognition, we recognize that this award represents far more than our company alone. It represents the people who have partnered with us, challenged us, encouraged us, and helped us live out our mission every day. Our name, Ebenezer, means, "This far God has brought us." Receiving this award feels like an Ebenezer moment, reminding us to pause and reflect on how many people have contributed to our journey.
A Mission Lived Out Together
At Ebenezer Remodeling, our mission is to come alongside homeowners to re-envision their spaces while managing their investment with integrity and excellence. But a mission statement is only meaningful when it is lived out consistently through relationships.
To our clients: thank you for trusting us with your homes. Remodeling is deeply personal. You invite us into the spaces where your families gather, celebrate milestones, and build memories. Your trust challenges us to continue growing, improving, and striving for excellence.
To our employees: thank you for embracing our values of Integrity, Excellence, and Investment. Your willingness to learn, communicate honestly, solve problems, and serve our clients with professionalism is what brings our mission to life every day.
To our trade partners and vendors: thank you for your craftsmanship, dependability, and commitment to doing things the right way. The quality of our work is only possible because of the talented people who stand beside us on every project.
More Than Building Homes
One of the things that makes this award especially meaningful is that it recognizes not only what a company does, but how it does it.
Several years ago, God showed us an important truth: while we were doing excellent work for our clients, we had not yet built an excellent business. That realization sparked a journey of growth that continues today. We invested in our people, our systems, our processes, and our leadership because we wanted our company to reflect the same level of excellence we expected from our projects.
Along the way, we learned that business is ultimately about people. Homes matter because the people who live in them matter. Processes matter because they help us serve people well. Profit matters because it allows us to invest in others. That belief has shaped not only how we operate our company, but also how we engage with our community.
Investing Beyond Our Walls
One of our core values is Investment. We believe success should create opportunities to serve others.
Through partnerships with organizations such as Lighthouse for Life, Hope Anew, IDEAS, Home Works of America, and many local churches and community initiatives, we've had opportunities to use the resources, skills, and blessings we've been given to support people in meaningful ways.
We're especially grateful for opportunities to help renovate a property that now serves as a community drop-in center, to assist elderly homeowners through Home Works of America, and to participate as a team in programs such as NAWIC's Construction Kids and Block Kids events. These experiences remind us that construction is about more than buildings. It's about creating spaces and opportunities that improve lives.
Looking Forward With Gratitude
Awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate milestones, but they are also an opportunity to reflect on the people who helped make those milestones possible.
This recognition belongs to our clients, employees, trade partners, vendors, mentors, coaches, community partners, friends, and family members who have supported us along the way. Most importantly, it is a reminder of God's faithfulness and provision throughout our journey.
We are deeply honored by this recognition from the Better Business Bureau, and we are excited for what comes next. As we move forward, our commitment remains the same: to pursue integrity, strive for excellence, invest in others, and continue helping homeowners re-envision home.
Thank you for being part of our story. This far God has brought us.
